Taika Waititi on Thor: Love And Thunder – “This is the craziest film I’ve ever done”

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taikia Waititi says the upcoming Marvel film "shouldn’t make sense.” Waititi last directed 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, the God of Thunder’s third outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is best known for his irreverent and sometimes dark comedies like Jojo Rabbit and What We Do In The Shadows, brought his unique style of humor to the project, and delivered one of the most bombastic and vibrant films in the entire MCU.

Waititi expressed how utterly bewildering it is to him that he got to make the film. He said, “I’ve done some crazy sh*t in my life … But [this is] the craziest film I’ve ever done … If you wrote down all the elements of this film, it shouldn’t make sense. It’s almost like it shouldn’t be made. If you walked into a room and said, ‘I want this and this and this.’ Who’s in it? These people. What are you going to call it? Love And Thunder. I mean, you’d never work again. Maybe I won’t after this.”
