Jeethu Joseph reacts to rumours of him directing the Hindi remake of Drishyam 2

The sequel to the Malayalam hit film Drishyam was released earlier this year. Owing to the pandemic, the film was released on an OTT platform and opened to wonderful reviews from the audiences and the critics. Drishyam which was released in the Malayalam language in 2013 was remade in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The sequel of the movie will also be remade in multiple languages. Talks about the remake of the film in Hindi are also underway.

However, when Jeethu was contacted by a leading daily regarding the Hindi remake he dismissed the speculative reports and said that he would not be directing the film. He also said that it will be up to the makers to decide on whom they want the film to be directed.

While Panorama Studios International bagged the rights for the Hindi remake, they landed in a legal soup after Viacom 18 filed a suit over the rights.

The Hindi remake of Drishyam starred Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav in lead roles.
